First Responder Training Program
Harris County Emergency Corps (HCEC) has provided pre-hospital emergency medical care for over 85 years and we pride ourselves on having some of the most skilled and experienced paramedics in Southeast Texas. Your business can capitalize on our expertise with emergency medical response through our First Responder Training Program. Our instructors are drawn from a pool of highly experienced paramedics and will teach your team how to recognize and begin treatment for emergencies at your business.
Not only does the First Responder Training Program help meet OSHA first aid requirements, but it also increases employee satisfaction when they know their coworkers are well-trained to deliver potentially life-saving medical services.
We make house calls
At HCEC we understand corporate training budgets can be tight. So, we make house calls. Our instructors can provide the same high-quality, high-impact training at your facilities as we have available at our headquarters in Houston, Texas. Having the training at your facility cuts travel time for employees and saves you money.
We offer a wide variety of class topics for your particular needs. As you might expect, the injuries occurring at a manufacturing facility can be vastly different from a chemical laboratory. We can build a custom program tailored and executed to your business needs. Some of our clients request a full day of training covering different topics and some others like to choose different industry-specific topics held in 1-hour increments on a monthly basis. Whatever your need, we are happy to help train your group!

Ideally, classes should retain a relatively low teacher to student ratio. Many of the classes we offer incorporate real-world, hands-on scenarios. Having multiple instructors provides the best possible experience for your employees.
Class sizes are not limited by a student-to-teacher ratio except for CPR/First Aid from the American Heart Association (AHA). If you would like a certification class, the American Heart Association requires an 8-to-1 student to teacher ratio.
Typically, our clients choose a 12-month or 24-month program with a 1-hour class each month. The 24-month program is ideal with the American Heart Association CPR certification because of AHA’s two-year re-certification requirement.
